Hong Kong’s $4B Family Office VMS Group Makes First Crypto Investment
VMS Group, a Hong Kong-based multifamily office managing nearly $4 billion in assets, has allocated up to $10 million to decentralized finance hedge fund Re7 Capital. This marks its inaugural move into cryptocurrency after two decades focused on private equity and long-term investments.
Managing partner Elton Cheung cited delayed public offerings in private markets as a catalyst for diversifying into liquid alternatives. "Growing demand, clearer regulatory support, and institutional endorsement make this the right time," Cheung told Bloomberg. The allocation coincides with Bitcoin's 50% rally since November's U.S. election.
